One of the things I always say is my favorite part of photographing families is to document the bond that they have. It’s that sacred special connection that is unique to the people in the family. It manifests in the small ways they show their love for one another over and over again, in their words but more so in their actions. It’s the look on a mother’s face as she stares into the eyes of her newborn daughter, the way a husband carefully holds the bottle while feeding his son, an older brother carefully patting his little sister’s hair and touching her toes as they wiggle. It’s a big sister who brings the diaper from the other room and gets super close in her brother’s face as she tells him she loves him. It’s the gentle sway of a mother rocking her baby and the huge smile on the dad’s face as he watches his son sleep on his chest.
It’s all these little moments in between the big ones where the bond reveals itself and grows deeper roots. Gosh, and I will never take for granted that I get to witness first hand and document such incredible connections and love. This family and the bond they have was truly such a joy and an honor to capture. Adore these four so very much and excited to share some of my favorites from this recent in home Westport newborn session!
