One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is connecting in a meaningful way with the people in front of my camera. Now I know what you are thinking… that may seem totally cheesy or ridiculously obvious thing for a photographer to say, for me it's a deep truth. It always has been one of my favorite parts and always will be.
In the jobs I held before launching my photography business over a decade ago, I think that was one of the biggest factor that was missing – a true connection to the work that I was doing and having a piece of my heart in what I was creating. Hence the complete 180 in my career all those years ago, but that’s a story for another day. :)
I have been blessed with some of the most amazing families who have welcomed me into their homes and their favorite places to photograph memories. We have laughed together, we have shared parenting struggles, we have agreed that time goes by way faster than we would like. We have soaked in the beauty of the present moment and preserved it to look back on in the future as the beautiful past. What a gift it is to be able to do that.
I had such a sweet morning with this incredible family, including the adorable miss Ciara! Her smiles filled my heart so! Can’t wait for her parents to show her these precious moments when she is older so she can see what a happy, tiny and adorable baby she was! Here are just a handful of my favorites from this recent in home newborn session…
